Nate Comic Inc.,

Western Suburbs of Chicago.

I“Saving one Child at a Time.”

We’re Better Together, rings true with a 20-member strong constituency of volunteers/supporters. Our strategic, hands-on, job & career-focused training program targets at-risk youth and has gained various trade-work support within the Maywood and Proviso Township community, both suburbs of Chicago, IL.

Nate Comic Inc. is the parent company of Larry's Boys Program, a local non-profit organization.

Together, we provides Jobs, Job Training and Mentoring in the Arts Programs for youth residing within the Village of Maywood and the Cook County area. We have strengthened years’ long partnerships formed with West Suburban Community Development Corp., Miracle Revival Center, local school districts and the juvenile court system. Nate Comic Inc. establishes employment opportunities, job-training, job-readiness and fosters a commitment to young people that instills pro-social friendships, strong interpersonal skills, a reassertion of hope for a solid future along with the job readiness preparations. Only through personal relationships can a sense of individual responsibility be reestablished that generates a commitment to follow through on the path to adulthood with a sense of pride and accomplishment.

Together we aim to STOP the repeated failures in the classroom and the development of destructive habits, at-risk young people have lost faith in the possibilities that do await them if they are successful in putting their lives together.

To accomplish this, young people must be in a caring, inclusive learning environment that promotes their best efforts and reinforces personal respect.

The Nate Comic Inc. program has been coordinated in direct response to the growing number of young people who are either falling through the cracks at school or are already entangled with the juvenile court system. The Nate Comic Inc. program identifies youth who are likely to have a turbulent transition to adulthood and offers a positive support system to avoid the pitfalls that can derail their lives.

We provides innovative solutions to crime prevention challenges via job readiness mentoring programs targeting youth.  Ultimately, Nate Comic Inc. fights systemic racism by promoting Social Justice. Facing challenging, unprecedented times for businesses, particularly with the onset of COVID-19, LBS is keeping doors open to at-risk youth - meeting and addressing the economic needs of low-income individuals and families through the creation of employment and business opportunities in low-income communities.

We started one of the first summer feeding programs in Maywood, providing meals for children who might otherwise have none during school breaks. This program does more than merely avert hunger. Hunger fosters aggravation, agitation, anger and resentment. Consequently, the program potentially thwarts crime and violence at levels small and great.

Additionally, Nate Comic Inc. sponsors an annual back-2-school supply giveaway, an annual holiday gifts/toys giveaway, as well as sponsoring an ongoing community mentoring program for at-risk youth.

The Nate Comic Inc. Program is continually expanding economic opportunity by mentoring the acquisition of skills, education, and training needed for productive employment. More young people are exhibiting expansion of individual opportunity by graduating, pursuing higher education, and finding work, resulting in immediate and long-term benefits of building family stability and creating more sustainable, resilient communities.

Plan: In office- make office equipment available (by appointment only) to students twice a week for 2 hours to those who need the use of computer and/or printers; offer online support to students twice a week (counseling - mental health and/or academics); offer support group to parents weekly for mental health (stress, depression, anxiety, etc.), or feedback and tips on having a successful school year during this pandemic.  Parents will also interact with each other on their experiences and gain support from each other.

Our youth arts and job mentoring program fights against systemic racism by promoting Social Justice.
Our critical components of community-based initiatives for at-risk youth are local programs implemented at the time of enrollment, a goal to develop their community's safe futures. This is intended to help our youth prioritize their goals, short and long term.

.

Nate Comic Inc. and partners are therefore providing job-training, employment programs, employment workshops and opportunities for youth - ages 6-18, and adults - ages 19-24. The focus is slightly different at each level, but the goal remains the same, to empower the youth to make positive changes in his/her life. We network with all businesses on St. Charles Rd. in the areas of job placement and/or interim placement. Our Job-training program fosters a learning environment that is an invaluable resource to youth, mentors, and the community at large.
